Splurge Vs Steal!

Okay so I was browsing online the Michael Kors website, looking at some new Spring items, when I came across this new collection of the most gorgeous pinks and distinctive gold hardware pieces.  Sadly as a student, items over $100.00 are unfortunately out of my current price range! But in my ordinary fashion, I improvised and found a similar item at a much more wallet-friendly price!

It is safe to say I went with the $30.00 Envelope clutch I found on Asos.com. I am defiantly pleased with this purchase, I seriously cannt wait till it arrives!

Fall Must-haves!!

I was inspired by fashion style guru Rachel Zoe for this post on some fabulous fall must haves. Here is my take on what every fabulous fashionista should fill their already over-flowing closets with!

This fall try sporting a Chic Fedora- a trend that can be carried throughout all of the seasons! Stylish Rain Gear-boots and umbrella are must haves! Cat Eye Sunglasses- Gotta’ keep your eyes protected so you can continue to spot cute pieces to add to your wardrobe! Something Python- So Luxe! A statement ring- Usually for after hours, but why not try to mix one into a day look? A Patent pouch- Patent was taking over the shoe and handbag world, now tryout a patent clutch! Drop earrings in jewel tonnes. Suede heels- a different take on heels, cute paired with tights! Try a Color Block belt in fun colors and textures. Cozy sweaters- perfect for snuggling up on the couch, or worn throughout the day! Lace up ankle boots- these are great if you can find them in more neutral colors, they can easily be worn with anything. Coloured cords in a fun fall tonne ( who would have ever imagined cords would make a comeback… not me)..Statement cuff, cute gloves, something mustard! This color is fabulous and amazing for fall. A statement scarf- I La-la-LOVE animal print, so animal print is always a good choice in my books! Some people are really against the whole faux fur look, but if it is faux, I don’t see what the big deal is, it can make any outfit catwalk worthy. I love the look of a fur vest over a plain long sleeve top, definitely adds style to a plain outfit! Now, I know it isn’t winter just yet, but beanies are defiantly cute and the cosier and the warmer, the better! Finally, amp your look up with a fun tall nail trend! Look for shades that are deep, dark, warm, or jewel tonne to add some extra spice to your look!

Recent purchases

Well, the dreaded week of back to school is getting c l o s e r and clooooser.  In order to keep my nerves calm- I've been shopping more than normal! Kidding- well about dreading school starting. I am actually quite excited for school to start again.  I am entering my fourth year of my Business program, and if all goes as planned, I'll be graduating in June!!! Anyways, the long weekend is here and I am excited because I finally have a day off! Here are some pics of my newest purchases, enjoy!

What are everyone's Labour Day weekend plans?

Cute leather jacket-It has the padding in the shoulders, kind of reminds me of Gaga

I loved this black ring, it is hard to see in this photo, but it is like black crystals?

This is a vintage Ralph Lauren Denim top that I got at Mintage on Commercial Drive. I have been looking for one of these every where!

Another Vintage Ralph Lauren Silk blouse.  It is really nautical haha, it could be cute with leggings?

I love these boyfriend style oxford button ups. When I am at University I wear them daily!

Another oxford button up-In pale pink, one of my favorites! This is from Mintage as well.  The skirt is new as well, I ordered it online!

This was a very exciting find at Mintage- A vintage Pierre Balmain blouse.  The material is fabulous.

I am a head band freak and a bow freak, put them both together and I am one happy girl.

Cute bow barrettes

                                                                           Pearl Barrettes

Feather Earrings- I love these, they are pretty neutral so they can be mixed with allot of outfits.

Combat boots!! I mentioned in a previous post I was on a mission to find a comfortable pair for fall, and I did!

New Oxfords

Jules and James lace up oxford booties

New purse from Aldo- I mentioned this ones in my Hermes purse post!

Splurge or steal?

Since I was younger, I have been in love with the show Gilmore Girls.  Me and my mom would watch every single episode, it was our bonding time haha. There was one episode in particular that I still remember to this day, and it was the episode when ,Logan presented Rory with  pink Birkin Hermes bag.  Rory in her peculiar ways, did not appreciate the true magnitude of the gift.  She suggested that the bag to be used as a bag for her computer cords.... which in all truth, the bag itself is a symbol of wealth due to its high price and elusiveness to the public. Its prices range from $9,000 to $150,000.... maybe one day right? Anyways, I drooled over the bag for years to follow.  Spotting a bag on Gossip Girl, Sex and the City or in magazines, I was always ecstatic.  With my painfully low part time job wages, it will take me years, maybe decades to afford a real one, however I have founded a similar version for a millionth of the price..(Don't mind my horrible lack of math knowledge..)
Aldo has a similar model that is structured quite similar, but with a more modern and trendier edge. Lemme know what you think!

First of all, lets all drool over the original Birkin bags..

Now, if you love this bag as much as I do, here is the more wallet friendly version...

All of the Aldo bags are under sixty dollars.  I bought an all black one with gold hardware. It arrived in the mail today! I cannot wait to use it!
