Summer Reads

I have found that this summer has provided the lower mainland with far to many rainy days, opposed to the expected hot and sunny beach days. On one rainy day in particular, I was suckered into running a few errands around town for my mom, one included dropping some books off at the local library.  Now, myself personally, am rarely found inside a library of any kind, let alone reading books. However, on that dreary and depressing day, I decided to give it a chance.. To my amazement (gasp) there was actually some pretty decent books that caught my attention... who would have guessed I would ever be interested in any form of literature other than fashion magazines, facebook or online blogs?  I signed up for a library card (huge geek) and I literally walked out with close to fifteen books... I am now hooked.  I read every chance I can! Ahhh thank goodness for all the rain we are experiencing this summer, otherwise I may have felt guilty for reading so much!

1. Skinny Bitch- Rory Freedmand and Kim Barnouin
2. No One You Know-Michelle Richmond
3. True Whit-Whitney Port
4. InStyle The New Secrets of Style
5. Sweet Little Lies-Lauren Conrad
6.Sugar and Spice-Lauren Conrad
7. L.A Candy-Lauren Conrad
8. Holly Would Dream-Karen Quinn
9. Sandcastles-Luanne Rice
10.  Beachcomers-Nancy Thayer
11. Coco Chanel-The Legend and The Life-Justine Picardie
12. Chanel The Couturier At Work-Amy De La Haye, Shelley Tobin
13. Skinny Bitch-The Ultimate Cook Book
All of these books are absolutely amazing.  They are all perfect summer reads.  Fashion, healthy living, sappy romance, mystery, Coco Chanel..need I say more? I`ll write a follow up post on all these books when I'm finished!! Whenever that is..

Okay, so I am in a perdicament... I am realllly wanting a pair of lace up "combat boots" for fall, but I am unsure of which ones to purchase.. I have decided on my top three-Aldo, Spring or Steve Madden... Time will only tell which ones I give into!!!

Aldo-Barbaries $120.00 (But in black)

Spring-Purpora $69.99

Steve Madden-Troopa-$100.00

I think these will be adorable in the fall with skinny jeans or leggings!  Ahh I cant wait:)

Saying Goodbye..

Rediculously talented singer Amy Whinehouse was found dead in her apartment building over this past weekend.  It is very sad as she was both a talented and unique individual.  E! Entertainment has posted this inside story:

"Amy was on her own at home apart from a security guard who we had appointed to help look after her over the past couple of years. She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he went to wake her he found she wasn't breathing. He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed," Goodman told the paper.
According to the publication, medics said Winehouse had been dead for several hours when her lifeless body was discovered in her London home Saturday afternoon.
The late singer had reportedly just spoken to her security team at 10 a.m. that morning, and she had a favorable examination with her doctor Friday night.

Her voice was special and captivating and her songs were easy to listen to and catchy,  Amy will be missed.

So, it is safe to say that I am not the greatest blogger around.  I always end up spending my time looking at all of the other amazing blogs online, instead of putting the effort and spending time really working on mine.  Well,  all of that is going to change..starting.. now! Starting this week, I am aiming at writing one to three blogs, about fashion, lifestyle, what Ive been up to, or anything  that comes to mind.  Be prepared!!!!

Delicious Lip Scrub!!!

The perfect way to complete any outfit is to perfect the perfect pout! And in order to achieve this, you have to have a good canvas to work with.  In order to achieve this all you need is a few simple house hold ingredients!

-1 Tsp Brown Sugar
-1Tsp Honey
-1 Tsp Olive Oil or Petrolium Jelly

Mix the brown sugar and honey together to create a paste and thickly coat your lips.  Leave it on for a few minutes then start gently scrubbing with your finger until all the dead skin has been buffed off.  Immediately dab on olive oil or lip balm to moisturize.

Voila! The perfect Canvas  for perfect lips!

:)

Today is a wonderful day, it is my day off! And there is nothing I would rather do more than go shopping! I will post pictures of what I picked up later on! Enjoy your Wednesday, and go Canucks go!!!

On a Mission

With summer trying to make it's way into Vancouver, I have been spending alot of time deciding what to splurge on this season.  I am hoping to find items that are light and airy, that can be dressed up or worn casually. And a few special items that could be worn into other seasons as well. Here are some images of what I hope to find!

A new favorite of mine is the feather earing trend. A vibrant pair can liven up any outfit, or a more softer and neutral pair can just add a nice touch to a cute summer outfit. I love this off white pair and only $48.00!

Now, for tops, I am looking for a few different styles for the summer. I would love to find a nice lacey looser fitting style that could be tucked into skirt and shorts for a easy look, similar to this topshop one:

I am also a huge fan of anything nautical inspired, so a cute striped top is deffinatly on my list!

A fun skirt that is both feminine and classic, could possible be worn in another season with a pair of cute tights.

Wedges are super popular right now-and paired with some flirty lace they are even better! Camel is a great color to have for summer, it is very versatile and can be easily matched with alot of options!

To finish this cute outfit off, I would love to pair it with a camel colored cross body purse. Something similar to this GORGOUS Chanel bag!! Ahhhh a girl can dream:)
