Fitness February!

Well, this month went by exceedingly fast.. I cant believe that it is already February! Well, with a new month a head I believed it was only fitting for me to turn a new leaf and start my year off fresh.  For the next month, I will be spending allot of time focusing on healthy living and exercising and of course I am giving myself some incentive to help me complete my month of fitness mania.  I am not looking to lose weight, I am more looking to change up some eating and lifestyle habits and to exercise more frequently... I mean the amount of time I spend online shopping... I could obviously be working out..Whatever the case, if I feel I have accomplished some changes and made some improvements, I will treat myself to a brand new pair of beautiful JBrand Skinnies.  What more motivation could a girl need really..

In order to keep my blog posts fun and motivational I have a number of amazing, inspiring and incredible fitness experts and professionals lined up with interviews and tips to help keep everyone motivated!! Bring on #FitnessFeb!!

Let's all stay motivated and work hard this month to see the results that we want!!

Bring on the Color

Well, January has clearly proven to be a very dreary and wet month.. however bring on the showers and you will see the flowers.. which means spring!! And how better to start off the spring season, but by adding color to your wardrobe and lots of it.  The previous fall fashion shows have proven that this spring there will be lots of color and some pretty amazing and shocking color combinations to try. From statement-making prints to cool new color combos, discover tons of new outfit ideas for the warm-weather season ahead.

My style tip: Stick to three colors max to avoid the girly, Rainbow Brite look. You might as well stand out of the crowd if you can!

Spring runways were more colorful than the crowd at a Lady Gaga concert. Bold, solid-color pieces—like skirts, dresses and heels to accessories—make simple dressing look instantly glam!

Straight to the point

I have  become overly consumed with Pinterest.. via my laptop, Iphone.. kinda all the time.  Anyways, today I was basically inspired by the number of cute quotes I found online.  I was considering blowing some of them up and printing them and framing them for my room! Just a fun idea.  Enjoy!

Have a happy Tuesday!

Updated work-wear

Well, the weekend has sadly come to an end and it is back to school, or work for some people.  If you are feeling the Monday morning blues and a bit dreary, try to spice up your office attire by mixing textures and prints.  If your office allows for a little more outfit creativity, take advantage. Stay warm with a pair of opaque tights and add interest with a bright print.  Bundle up stylishly by adding a sweater coat to a girlie dress; just cinch at the waist and add a pair of seasonal boots to complete your cozy-chic office apparel.

Mix things up and have fun doing it!

My favorite smiles

Do you ever have the days when you feel like you need that extra burst of energy, or extra large coffee to help get you through your morning, let alone the entire day.. Well I am not the hugest coffee drinker..but here are some of my favorite things to watch, see, hear, enjoy you name it.. hopefully they help brighten your day too!

1.  Watch any classic Audrey Hepburn movie. Audrey is incredibly stunning, charming and clever.  Her peculiar sense of humor always makes me laugh.

2. Favorite Sound.. Mr. Frank Sinatra, I don't know if you are into this style or era of music, but I find listening to Frank Sinatra's soothing voice so relaxing.. it is a perfect combo with a glass of red wine!  Some of my other favorite crooners are Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, Micheal Bouble.

3.  Favorite Laugh..

I watch this repeatedly.. this and all of the other **** people say videos!

4.  Favorite inspirational song.. A little bit Stronger, performed by Sara Evans

I have currently listened to this song 12 times today..I guess it's one of those days?

5.  Favorite scent

Fresh Flowers

6.  Favorite Indulgence

Mini Peanut Butter pies stuffed with Oreos.. Need I say more? Recipe here

7.  Favorite line

8.  Favorite Image

9.  Favorite thing to do..

Paint your nails a happy color!

10.  Laughs and Drinks with your girlfriends can change anything and everything

Splurge Vs Steal!

Okay so I was browsing online the Michael Kors website, looking at some new Spring items, when I came across this new collection of the most gorgeous pinks and distinctive gold hardware pieces.  Sadly as a student, items over $100.00 are unfortunately out of my current price range! But in my ordinary fashion, I improvised and found a similar item at a much more wallet-friendly price!

It is safe to say I went with the $30.00 Envelope clutch I found on Asos.com. I am defiantly pleased with this purchase, I seriously cannt wait till it arrives!

New Year, New Me.

Well, I have been writing this little blog off and on for about a year now.. and I guess I have never really taken the opportunity to share with my readers a little bit about myself. Well, for starters, for those of you who who don't know me.. my name is Ainsley Smith.  I am 21 years old and I live in a small town outside of Vancouver, BC.  I am  definitely a city girl at heart, so spending my time downtown is defiantly a favorite past time of mine.  I attend the University of the Fraser Valley, where I am obtaining a degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Communications.  It is a mixture of some of my favorite things I suppose.  Upon completing my degree, I "plan" ( My plans change almost as much as I change my clothes... ) on going to school in New York City.  Here I am going to study the Business of Fashion, so I can eventually pursue a career in the Fashion Industry.. not really sure of the specific field just yet.  I have a wide variety of employment experience, so It kind of makes it hard for me to really know exactly what it is I want to do when I am older.. I have worked in retail for a  number of years, I teach dance, work in an Accounting office, I have worked in a restaurant, as a personal assistant, as a customer service rep for a country club and I also spent the last summer working as a Junior Marketing assistant for Vancouver Fashion Week, which was an incredible experience.  Currently I just fill my time with school, working in retail, teaching dance, and helping out in my dad's accounting office whenever I can.. and blogging of course! I like to be busy, it helps keep me motivated and focused on what is important.

As previously mentioned in my Welcome Back post, I talked about some of the New Years Resolutions that I have, but one of the important ones I kind of forgot to touch on is pretty personal.  I feel that this year, I really need to find the real me again.  I just got out of a 3.5 year relationship with the guy of my dreams and believe me, this is no picnic.  I don't think I have ever felt this way before.  I honestly feel like I lost my spark and I don't really know who I am as a person.  It just down right sucks!  So this year, I really want to concentrate on opening up as a individual, whether it is on my blog, or in everyday life.  I need to get my independence and my spark back and I am actually really excited to do so. A wise woman once told me that sometimes you just need to let go of the past and look ahead.  Because through every storm, there is a rainbow.

During 2012, I really hope to explore new career paths, meet new friends, travel and just have fun while doing it all.  This is the year that I will find what makes me happy and I want to share it with everyone, every step of the way.  For a while I was feeling pretty down on myself, which I find a little pathetic, because sadly, my ego is do big to admit it at times... But I know now, that feeling sorry for myself isn't going to get me anywhere and it sure isn't going to help me find Mr.right!

So here is to a new year and a new me.. A year full of adventure, happiness, laughter and maybe even love? Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves.  I am just beyond excited to get my smile back and I hope this year, through my blog posts, or from other inspiration, everyone else can too:)
