This trend takes its cue from the grunge theme of the 90's, but this time around its thankfully much more feminine. The inspiration, however, remains the same- music, street fashion and youth culture. The strong uprising of music festivals also contributes greatly to this fashion trend as it maintains the carefree attitude of Woodstock. Ironically, what was once an anti-fashion movement now means layering and gaining a more elegant look. This trend is more about layering contradiction than anything else; leather and lace, heavy sweaters with light under layers, pretty with tough, etc.
